About the topic:

Influenza viruses pose a significant threat to poultry populations and human health, with sporadic outbreaks and the potential for pandemic emergence. Traditional vaccine development approaches have faced challenges in achieving broad-spectrum protection due to the high mutation rate of the virus. Thus, updates of influenza research findings are critical for developing scalable and adaptable solutions to face potential outbreaks and/or potential pandemics. Additionally, incorporating one health approach, emphasizing collaborative efforts between human, animal, and environmental health sectors, is crucial for comprehensive pandemic preparedness.

In the spirit of unity and shared purpose, we would like to invite you to submit your recent manuscript/reviews/short communications/opinions about influenza viruses to be published in the “German Journal of Veterinary ResearchScopus, CiteScore 2.4”. We believe that this Special Issue will highlight the most recent advances related to the latest challenges of avian influenza in animals and humans. This special issue will cover updates on the epidemiological situation, vaccines, and pathogenesis of influenza viruses. Together, we can profoundly impact the global fight against Avian Influenza.
