Scope
The German Journal of Natural Products Research (Ger. J. Nat. Prod. Res.) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal considering different article types on all aspects of natural products and their applications. Research fields of interest include but are not limited to biosynthesis and microbiological transformations, fermentation, extraction methods, chemical analysis, biological properties (anti-inflammtory, anti-oxidants, and anti-cancer), manufacturing, and pharmacology of bioactive compounds. The journal also accepts scientific papers related to host-mediated effects, such as modulation of host immunity and modulation of and restoring intestinal microbiota. The journal covers all aspects of experimental and applied research on natural products. The journal has a great interest in papers of high quality and novelty on tackling antimicrobial resistance using alternatives to antimicrobials. Special attention is given to articles providing insight into the tackling strategies and alternative products for antimicrobials, e.g., research on novel and current alternatives to antimicrobials, natural bioactive medicinal agents, and natural antimicrobials.
Preliminary studies are not acceptable to the journal. The journal welcomes systematic and narrative review articles focusing on regional and global surveys, official data, and analyses of the mechanisms of action. The articles should present comprehensive and critical summaries of current knowledge in the field and should not be limited to discussing the author's work. Papers will not be accepted if standards of care or procedures performed on animals are not up to those expected of human and veterinary scientists. The standards must meet the International Guiding Principles for Biomedical Research involving Animals issued by the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences. (C.I.O.M.S., c/o WHO, CH 1211 Geneva 27, Switzerland).
