Publication Ethics

GMPC is committed to good publication practices, establishing codes of conduct for good publication practice, and dealing with misconduct cases in ethical and practical ways.

Authorship

Authors Responsibility

• 1- Do not falsify or modify the data.
• 2- Avoid plagiarism and properly cite other people's work.
• 3- Decide on the authorship order before drafting the article to avoid future conflicts.
• 4- Indicate whether the research work has been previously published or presented.
• 5- Declare any conflict of interest.
• 6- Do not submit the manuscript to more than one journal for consideration simultaneously.
• 7- Before doing research, obtain clearance from the Institutional Ethics Committee.
• 8- Accept direct responsibility for relevant elements of the material

Plagiarism

In addition to copying text, ideas, images, or data from other sources without crediting them, plagiarism includes using information taken from the author's own publications without the proper citation of the source.
GMPC reserves the right to withdraw or reject a manuscript after examining with suitable plagiarism software, if the articles contain more than 10%plagiarism.

Conflict of Interest (COI)

It is the responsibility of the authors to identify and declare any personal circumstances or interests that might inappropriately influence the representation or interpretation of the findings. Researchers must declare no conflicts of interest by stating, "The authors declare no conflicts of interest." In case they don't have any conflict of interest.
In case they have any sponsors, funding sponsors must declare any involvement in the study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, manuscript writing, or the decision to publish the results. Assuming that the funding sponsors had no role in the study design, data collection, analysis, or interpretation, manuscript writing, and publication decisions, state, "The funding sponsors had no role in the study design, data collection, results analysis, or interpretation, manuscript writing, or publication decision.".

Duplicate Publication

A duplicate publication is classified as a major violation and scientific misconduct by GMPC. A major violation occurs when duplicate publications are based upon the same data set and existing findings. Additionally, duplication is considered if there is evidence that the author tried to hide it by changing the title or authorship order or omitting to refer to previous publications. Other types of minor violations are considered segmental publications and reanalysis derived from a single study.
Cover letter during submission should be included explaining if an author is submitting a report that is already published or closely related to another paper that has been submitted elsewhere. To help the editor decide how to handle the submission, the authors should declare and provide copies of the related submissions. With or without author approval or explanation, the article may warrant retraction if the editor was unaware of the violations.

Animal/Human/Plant/Cell lines ethics

Authors should ensure compliance with '3 Rs' when using animal subjects. While dealing with human subjects, authors should follow the rules of the Declaration of Helsinki of 1975. If authors use plants, authors should comply their studies with the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Convention on the Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. Finally, if the authors used cell lines, they should clarify the source and type of cell line and their handling methods in clear statements.

Citation Guidelines

Authors should consider the following practices in their citation.

• 1- Avoid self-citation.
• 2- Avoid copying references from any already published articles.
• 3- Reading carefully the publications intended to cite.
• 4- Cite the original work when possible.
• 5- Using published articles is recommended
• 6- Avoid citation of reports in newspapers or non-scientific media
• 7- Full details of cited articles including journal name, volume, issue, and numbers of pages is obligatory
