Abstract:
The field of life sciences has expanded significantly in recent years, encompassing a diverse range of categories and subcategories. It covers research and studies involving microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi, as well as decoding complex processes, including the physiological functions of humans and animals on Earth. Life sciences research can be categorized into three main areas: (i) Basic science, which includes research aimed at investigating theoretical questions and building knowledge to discover life processes such as cell division; (ii) Applied science, which involves applying scientific knowledge and methodology to achieve practical goals, such as testing new drug candidates in clinical phases to manage uncontrolled cell division; and (iii) Translational research, which entails turning observations and results obtained in the laboratory into interventions, such as screening drug compounds for disease treatment and implementing them in medical practice to improve the health of individuals and the public.
